Winter Wine Festival - February 16th

In the Spring/Summer 2012 edition of Virginia Wine Lover Magazine, this festival was named as one of the top three Wine Festivals in the Shenandoah Valley by readers of the magazine. 

Spice up your winter doldrums and join Historic Staunton Foundation for their 3rd Annual Winter Wine Festival on February, 16th from 12pm-6pm.  Hosted by the Stonewall Jackson Hotel, enjoy samples from 19 of Virginia’s most accomplished vineyards and wineries.  With live music, door prizes, and the finest wine the state of Virginia can offer, this is sure to be a can’t miss event.

The festival brings visitors to downtown Staunton during a relatively slow time of year.  Last year, customers came from Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania to spend the day in Staunton, taste wine, shop, and dine in local restaurants.

“We hope people will bring a group, and spend the day having fun with friends,” says Franks Strassler, Executive Director of Historic Staunton Foundation.  “Last year, many local folks brought their friends and made a great day of lunch, wine tasting and shopping.  Downtown was hopping with activity,” recalls Strassler.
