65% Cabernet Franc, 20% Sangiovese, 15% Primitivo

A muted purple in the glass, the color “fills from rim to rim with a slightly opaque core, hinting at complexity without undue density.  The attack features a nice acidic balance and undertone of blackberries and plum.  The midpalate expands nicely to include a slightly leathery undertone with black cherry highlights.  The touch of pepper and tobacco on the memorable finish of this Cabernet Franc dominated blend leads silky tannins that linger gently.

The wine will pair nicely with many savory meat and vegetarian dishes but the subtle mannerisms tend to push me toward herb stuffed pork tenderloin and, naturally, rich pasta dishes.
