Willowcroft’s 2008 Cabernet Franc impressed the tasting panel with its style and grace.  The judges in the Paci¨fic Rim Competition were equally impressed giving this wine a silver medal in that prestigious West Cost contest.

A dark shade of violet in the glass, the color is consistent from rim to rim.  The nose includes plum, blackberries and licorice.

The plum undertones continue on the slightly viscose attack leading to black cherries and black pepper on the well integrated midpalate.  The full memorable finish is highlighted by bright Bing cherries, leather and just a hint of pipe tobacco.

Despite its subtle attack this wine would stand up well to almost any hearty dish. While a savory leg of lamb is the easiest pairing, I believe this wine would go equally well with a heavy Brunswick stew or even well seasoned Cornish game hens.
