In the glass this Chambourcin dominated blend (84% Chambourcin, 8% Cabernet Franc, 8% Petit Manseng) is deep and dark. The nose is filled with dark stone fruit including black cherry and plum.

The genteel attack leads to a midpalate that expands nicely to include pomegranate, raspberry and raisins.  The medium length finish lingers with licorice and full jammy notes. 

After the second tasting I paired this wine with a hearty spicy spaghetti dinner. I would also suggest well marbled beef, grilled eggplant or grilled portabella mushroom.
